Just this week, Microsoft and Nintendo announced plans to release a Super Mario World mash-up pack for Minecraft: Wii U Edition later this month. We’ve seen Star Wars skin packs, Mass Effect mash-up packs. In fact, while the feature was originally exclusive to the PC version of the game, Microsoft and Mojang have been making a killing in recent years, signing deals with a variety of developers, publishers and console manufacturers to create skins and mash-up content based on other popular video game IP. Skins have been a big part of the Minecraft community for several years now. Just don’t go expecting anything too impressive. Minecraft: Xbox One Edition is getting a brand new skin pack this week, that will be available as a free download through this weekend, to celebrate the four-year anniversary of Mojang’s beloved sandbox game.
